I used the Old Norwegian or German Twisted Cast On for the neck. I like to learn by reading rather than through video, so I used a written tutorial from RhyFlowerKnits, who also has a video of it on her page.
I cast on for a Small, but am going to knit the XS, as the thing has a LOT of positive ease - probably WAY too much for my taste. So I'll do a few less raglan increases, and we'll see how that works.
